I’m watching it now and I’m thinking that there is some important issues, outside of Christmas, that are poeticaly/metaphorically/dharm… included in the story.
Examples: The sexy leg trophy that the Dad thinks his wife is jealous of, and the disapointment of the child finding out that the secret message of is Ovaltine club is an advertisment.
I think it’s an EXCELLENT piece of writing - not only is it a depiction of life that a lot of people can identify with but it does hit on some interesting issues - like when Ralphy uses the F-bomb when they’re replacing the flat tire and he refuses to admit the real place he learned it - he learned it from his father who used it every day - lots of great points - medicine delivered with a wonderful dose of humor as the sugar to help it go down ;).
You know that lamp from the movie A Christmas Story, the one that the husband wins in a contest and the wife hates? well i want to buy one.. i already have a little replica lightnight, but i want the real thing.. one that is the same size and quality as the one in the movie… any info would be appreciated!

like the elves were yelling at them to hurry up and then Santa was being mean to Ralphie when he told Santa what he wanted for christmas…
isnt Santa supposed to listen to what kids have to say???

i like it. they dont overplay it. its on only on christmas eve for 24 hrs and christmas day.
On the movie ‘A Christmas Story’ how did you like Santa Claus and the two elves?
I didn’t think the male elf was too bad but Santa and the female elf were mean and awful, the female elf acting totally mean and obnoxious towards Ralphie almost reminds me of this mean waitress I’ve had at a restaurant.
I work in retail and I can totally relate to the stress of wanting to get home on Christmas Eve and having to stay late for the store to be cleared from the customers.
There is nothing better than finding new games to play.
What are some suggestions that incorporate two of my favorite things for Christmas.

I’m sure it’s on regular TV, but i know for sure it’s on TBS every year, christmas eve to christmas day for a 24 hour stretch. I never miss it, even though I have it on DVD. I checked comcast tv guide website and they don’t have another one listed, but you could check it for your zip code, if you have comcast in your area.
Who would be the new actors/actress’s in your new version?
No, because the original is a classic. It had a perfect cast and also what makes the film so great is Jean Shepherd’s narration.
Any remake would be second rate.

I mean that it’s a good movie but they show it 24 hours and they do it every year so it’s gotten old. Does anyone else agree with me? They need new Christmas movies.
I love this movie…but running it for 24 hours on TBS is a bit much. Why don’t they run 24 hours of different Christmas movies…..
There are sooo many great parts so quickly I’ll say when Ralphie shoots his eye out (because that actually happened to me with my first BB gun, except no glasses) and when that kid gets his tongue stuck to the pole (also happened to me but I was prepared and had a warm glass of water on hand).

For the past several days I have been flipping through the channels looking and looking but it’s not on. So, I checked imdb and it shows that it’s only on Christmas Eve. Who else thinks that just isn’t right?
Me. I agreed with you so much that I actually went out and bought it on DVD. Now I can watch it whenever and rub that in the TV Guide’s face. Haha. Hope you get to see it, though.
