Has anyone seen the movie” Idiocracy”? like it or not?
honestly its one of my favorite movies. I used to work at blockbuster and i would recommend it to everyone. People take movies too seriously now a days, and this is a movie that you can just sit back and laugh…especially because the world could end up that way at the rate we are going!!
In terms of the soundbytes and people not looking at ISSUES.
It goes for both sides, so, this question is not about which side is worse. So please don’t answer ‘cons this’ or ‘dems that.’
Why can’t we just talk about issues and policies?

I had this same conversation with my wife the other day. Elections have become a “he said-she said” tit for tat snipefest that don’t say anything of substance on either side. It’s turned into a beauty contest. The news is no help, since they only cover each campaign’s reaction to each other’s gaffes and missteps. This keeps idiots like us stupid and in the dark as to the “why” and “how” of things, and makes finding truth that much more difficult. I used to think Obama might bring some transparency back to the white house, but I’m not so sure anymore.
Do you feel that dumb people are breeding faster than intelligent people? If so do you believe or species is becoming less intelligent with each generation

No chance. i dont think the world will ever be dumb enough to feed plants gatorade because it has electrolytes and “it’s what plants crave” the world will never be that dumb or crazy.
It seems to have come true already even though it was supposed to be 500 years in the future.
I’ve seen it 4 or 5 times. In ways i like it better than Office Space, by the same creator Mike Judge.
One thing I liked about it was, it’s about de-evolution, and I’ve been a fan of the band Devo since the late 70s.
Some things in Idiocracy were almost scary because they are so true.
Stupid people have stupid babies, stupid babies raised by stupid people will most likely be stupid.
It has already happened look at what the #1 TV show is and who the president is!!!

OMG, yes they do! I listened to part of the Rush Limbaugh show this morning and the stuff he was talking about is turning up as questions tonight. And then they will go on and on about how they think for themselves.
Is this happening to America? With all the republicans popping out babies that only speak one language and choose nascar over intelligence. I see a scary parallel with this movie and our country.
Great movie. I think it’s coming true–not sure if it’s related to political affiliation, but it’s definitely parallel with american pop culture.
However, I would love our currency to say “Haulin’ asss, gettin’ paid!”
Mike Judge, the creator King of the Hill, who also contributed to the movie Office Space and Beavis and Butthead, made a movie recently that bothers me called Idiocracy. It depicts a future where people are way dumbed down. The way he depicts this is very similar to the way black people act! Why wasn’t there a greater outcry over this like over Don Imus or Michael Richards?
i saw that movie…I don’t believe that it is racist. I think that it Mike Judge is known for not pandering to political correctness (PC).
In your question you do generalize “the way black people act” though. Are you racist? or would you say that maybe it is just PC that makes people eager to shout racism.

Because Idiocracy is more of a documentary than fiction, unfortunately.
De-evolving. Because stupid people have far more babies than smart people. The average IQ just drops and drops. Do you think people are dumber today than they were 100 years ago? You think we’ll be even dumber in another 100?
Look around. I did see the movie, and from what I see around it does seem a frighteningly distinct possibility.
That movie is soo funny.
I’ve watched it tons of times for some reason, it’s kind of like a car crash..no matter how bad it is, you can’t help but watch. 
Because it seems like the world is getting there now. It’s so very sad.
I recommend Idiocracy to everyone. Luke Wilson is very funny, the movie is insightful and made me laugh so hard I had tears running down my face several times. Until the end, when I took a breath and realized just how close we are to Mr. Judge’s vision of tomorrow.
Keep an eye out for a cameo by the guy from the Mac commercials (Justin Long)as Dr. Lexus. I found his performance Oscar-worthy, especially considering what Oscars have been handed out for in the recent past…besides, he’s cute.
In short, Idiocracy is a fatally funny glimpse into a possible future where people are named after product brand names (the president’s middle name is Mountain Dew), hospital visits cost $5 billion dollars, there are mountains of garbage because no one is smart enough to figure out what to do with it all, and nobody cares about anything but money. All because only stupid people are breeding. Sounds familiar to me, somehow. Oh, yeah; it’s what I think of when I see professional wrestling…
Seriously, watch this movie. It’s a good laugh and it will make you think.
